About the University

The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), founded in 1987, comprises seven faculties offering a wide-range of graduate and undergraduate programmes – from International Business to International Law, and ICT. All our programmes are fully accredited by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO).

We educate our students to become critically-thinking global citizens who are entrepreneurial and creative, both specialists and generalists. People who move easily between cultures, who are used to working across disciplines, and who respond creatively to change. Even during their studies, they contribute to making the education and research at The Hague University of Applied Sciences more meaningful.

We are also a knowledge institution that conducts high-quality, practice-oriented research — a trusted partner for both regional and international research questions. In this way, we aim to make a professional and significant contribution to solutions and innovations for the societal challenges of today’s world.

Locations and Campuses

The main campus of THUAS is a modern building conveniently located next to the Holland Spoor railway station, featuring welcoming study spaces, a well-equipped library and collaborative areas that create a lively atmosphere for students.

City Life

The Hague is located in the west of the Netherlands on the North Sea coast and has a lovely beach. It is the third-largest city in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The Hague is the seat of the Dutch government and the International Court of Justice. Most foreign embassies in the Netherlands and 150 international organisations are located in the city.

The Hague has many cultural highlights and boasts excellent theatres and music venues. It is reputed to be the top pop city of the Netherlands. Parkpop, one of the largest free festivals in Europe, takes place in June. The sandy beaches of Scheveningen, just outside the city centre, are a popular place to relax.
