About the University
Since its parliamentary recognition in 1997, the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) has become a hub of knowledge and innovation serving the surrounding region while maintaining a strong international outlook. Under the Balmes University Foundation, UVic-UCC is a regional university that brings together four foundations. As a regional development initiative serving the entire community and fostering global engagement, our distinctive university has become a strategic success for Catalonia as a whole.
The Faculty of Business and Communication offers six bachelor’s degrees in the fields of business, communication, and social studies: Business Administration and Management, Marketing and Business Communication, Global Studies, Advertising and Public Relations, Audiovisual Communication, and Journalism. The faculty has agreements with over 80 universities worldwide and hosts more than 150 exchange students annually. It currently offers two double degrees with the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR), in Journalism and in Advertising and Public Relations. In addition, we are open to participating in field trips co-organized with partner institutions, as well as BIP programs and COIL collaborations.

City Life in Vic
Vic is a peaceful and charming university town just one hour from Barcelona by bus or train. With nearly 50,000 inhabitants, it is known for its medieval heritage, visible in landmarks such as the Cathedral of Vic, the Roman Temple, and the large Plaça Major, which hosts the town’s traditional weekly market. As home to the University of Vic (UVic-UCC), the city has an active student atmosphere, a strong cultural life, and a celebrated local gastronomy, especially its renowned fuet.
Surrounded by natural areas and close to the Pyrenees, Vic offers easy access to outdoor activities, while remaining a compact, safe, and walkable place to live. The city hosts notable events such as the Música Viva Festival in September and the Medieval Fair each December, which fill the streets with performances, artisans, and local products.
